Topping Out at Cherry Wood Grange

Local Mayor visits new care home in Chelmsford

On 12th September, Councillor Duncan Lumley Mayor of Chelmsford and Lady Mayoress Edna Lumley officiated at the ‘Topping Out’ ceremony for Cherry Wood Grange, our new care home in Chelmsford, due to open in November this year.

The Mayor and Mayoress donned their high visibility jackets and hardhats to help plant a tree on the second floor outdoor terrace and lay the last brick to mark the final stages of the homes build.

The Mayor said, “I am delighted to take part in today’s ceremony having personally watched with much interest this exceptional care home being built.  I am hugely impressed with the quality of environment and facilities that will be available at Cherry Wood Grange.  I look forward to being invited back to meet the new residents who have chosen to make this their new home later this year”.
